The iPET Network Level 2 End-Point Assessment (EPA) for Animal Care and Welfare Assistant is the final assessment for Apprentices completing the Level 2 Animal Care and Welfare Assistant Standard. This assessment is designed to confirm that Apprentices have developed the practical skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours required to work safely and competently in animal care settings.
The EPA includes a combination of practical tasks and professional discussions that reflect real-world scenarios in animal care environments. Apprentices are assessed on their ability to provide high standards of care for a variety of animals, ensure welfare and safety, maintain clean and compliant facilities, and support colleagues in their daily duties. The assessment also evaluates communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and professionalism.
