QUALIFICATION CREATOR
Become a Qualification Creator with iPET Network
Shape the Future of Animal Care and Veterinary Education
Most of us complete our first formal qualification early in life – GCSEs or vocational courses. But few ever stop to think who creates these qualifications and how they’re built.
Behind every regulated qualification is a network of subject matter experts, educators, and Awarding Bodies who ensure that what students learn truly reflects the needs of the modern industry.
At iPET Network, an Ofqual-regulated Awarding Organisation, we’re proud to collaborate with passionate professionals who want to make an impact through qualification design.
We’re always looking for:
- Collaborators who identify new qualification needs
- Creators who write and develop qualification content
- Consultants who review, validate, and shape final outcomes
Together, these roles help us design qualifications that transform both people’s careers and the standards of animal welfare and veterinary science across the UK.
COLLABORATORS
Why Collaborate with iPET Network
Collaborators are often the originators of great ideas, individuals or organisations who recognise a need within the industry and bring it forward to the iPET Network team. For example, Wendy Vaughan, a respected expert in the Veterinary Physiotherapy Sector, identified a gap in the market for a suite of regulated qualifications in her field. Working alongside iPET Network and Wendy Vaughan, they became the driving force behind the development of the Level 4, 5 and 6 recognised qualifications.
Working with iPET Network to develop a suite of qualifications was a genuinely collaborative experience, leading to the launch of three Regulated qualifications. The Academy is now an approved centre, delivering those qualifications, with a few more in the pipeline. As a centre, we have found iPET Network to be friendly, supportive and great to work with, helping us to successfully navigate the sometimes complex world of delivering regulated qualifications.

While the role of a Collaborator is unpaid, it comes with distinct benefits:
- The opportunity to co-create nationally recognised qualifications
- The potential to deliver the qualification as an Approved Centre
- The ability to establish a commercial advantage through a qualification that meets real market demand
Collaborators turn insight into opportunity – not just for themselves, but for the industry
CREATORS
What are Creators?
Creators are the writers, developers, and architects of the qualification. They translate subject expertise into learning outcomes, assessment criteria, and educational resources that meet the requirements of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
Creators may come from within the iPET Network team or be external subject experts contracted on a project basis. Where specialist expertise is required, iPET Network agrees a bespoke contract and payment package, based on the qualification’s projected value and demand.
Behind every accredited course is a network of subject matter experts, educators, and awarding bodies who ensure that what students learn truly reflects the needs of the modern industry.
- Public recognition as qualification authors
- The chance to deliver or market the qualification as an Approved Centre
- Collaboration with a regulated Awarding Organisation with a proven record of success
Consultants provide an essential layer of quality assurance and industry validation. They review draft qualifications, provide detailed feedback, and ensure that each qualification is fit for purpose, up-to-date, and aligned with both industry practice and educational standards. Consultants come from a wide range of backgrounds - from education and training specialists to animal welfare professionals. For example, Maya Badham from Safeguarding Loop served as a Consultant for the iPET Network Level 2 Award in Safeguarding for Pet Professionals. Her insights helped refine the qualification to reflect the real challenges faced by vulnerable communities and their pets. Although this is a voluntary role, Consultants often go on to become Approved Centres, delivering the qualifications they helped shape. The true reward lies in influencing the future of education and making a lasting impact on their sector.
