The iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canicross Coaching has been developed to meet the needs of Candidates who have existing canine knowledge and basic fitness, and wish to gain the knowledge, skills and understanding required to become a qualified Canicross Coach, delivering training to others who wish to take part in the canine discipline of Canicross. This qualification provides the ideal platform for establishing your own Canicross Coaching business.
Candidates who complete this qualification will be able to:
• Understand the principles of how to start their own Canicross coaching business
• Recognise their responsibilities in terms of supporting animal welfare and behaviour in accordance with relevant legislation
• Understand how to effectively plan a coaching programme and create training sessions suited to their participants’ experience and skill level
• Recognise the risks to both dogs and humans involved in Canicross and how to manage these risks effectively
• Select and safely fit equipment for Canicross participants (both human and canine)
• Confidently lead a Canicross coaching session
