The iPET Network Level 3 End-Point Assessment (EPA) for Livestock Unit Technician is the final assessment for Apprentices completing the Level 3 Livestock Unit Technician Standard. This assessment is designed to confirm that Apprentices have developed the advanced knowledge, practical skills, and professional behaviours required to manage livestock safely, efficiently, and to high welfare standards.
The EPA includes practical tasks, professional discussions, and scenario-based assessments that reflect real-world responsibilities on livestock units. Apprentices are evaluated on their ability to care for, monitor, and manage the health and welfare of livestock, maintain safe and compliant facilities, implement feeding and breeding programs, and apply biosecurity and disease prevention measures. The assessment also examines communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills relevant to working with colleagues, farm managers, and regulatory bodies.
Successfully completing the iPET Network Level 3 EPA demonstrates that Apprentices are confident, competent, and industry-ready, capable of working independently and effectively as professional Livestock Unit Technicians in commercial, research, or agricultural settings.
